Chapter 11

Bill and Jill took a holiday in Belson Bay, a beautiful touristic city North of Britney, with fantastic golf full of marine life.

They went for a highly regarded dolphin watching tour in the gulf and it was very exciting. They saw lots and lots of dolphins out of like three pods (a pod has normally 12 dolphins) and those majestic creatures jumped and swam around the boat like they knew that people were filming them and taking photos of all the dolphins.

Jill saw the intelligent sparkle in the dolphins’ eyes and suddenly, she came up with another wild (pun intended!) conspiracy theory:

The dolphins were a sentient species far more intelligent and advanced than the Burthian civilization. Their society was organized in a complicated paradigmatic, ethnographic pyramidal caste system. The main branches were: The Warriors Caste, The Priests Caste, The Politicians Caste, The Scientist Caste, and, at the bottom of the pyramid, The Workers Caste.

They lived in huge hidden underwater cities with all the benefits of modern dolphinian technology and a huge seafood menu!

Their strategy was simple: Release a couple of deadly viruses, create pandemics, and get rid of the Burthian civilization. After that, via major tectonic plates rearrangements, submerge all the Burthian continents and expand the Dolphin Kingdom all over the Burth as an all-underwater planet.

The dolphins started with a few earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis, and of course viruses.

From The Plague and other viruses, the Burthians always recovered via herd immunization or vaccines because they were a very resilient race.

After The Plague and the common flu viruses (which by the way killed many millions of the Burthians) the last virus released was Guvid-19Bis.

Guvid-19Bis was released by the Dolphins as the last resort in the race to eradicate the Burthian population. It worked at the beginning after being released at The Water World in Yuhan, Fackina. It became a pandemic, killing millions but again the Burthians recovered, and it seems that they were not heading for extinction again.

For the dolphins, the failure of their Guvid-19Bis doomsday was the last straw, they decided to leave Burth altogether and colonize a planet very similar to Burth in the Beta Centaury star system called Burth2.

At the time of their permanent departure, the dolphins left a very long and complicated message for the Burthians, it was later translated by a famous hitchhiker of the Galaxy and sounds like this:

“So long and thanks for all the fish.”
